  • Thus, 359 to win and if England have to chase this, they will have to bat really well here. The pitch is a belter and the conditions are sublime for batting but the new ball does have something in it. If the home team is able to get to a good start, there is no reason why this total cannot be overhauled. Should be a cracker of a chase. Do not go too far away...
  • As for the English bowling, they were sent to all parts of the ground today. Woakes did get 4 wickets but he too was expensive. Willey especially was treated very severely and went for more than 8 and a half runs per over. Moeen Ali was their most economical bowler but he only bowled 6 overs, something that was strange on the part of Morgan.
  • After being put into bat, the away side lost two quick wickets of Fakhar and Babar but Imam-ul-Haq stood nice and tall at one end. He kept the runs coming and built three important stands, first with Haris Sohail, then with his skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed and finally with Asif Ali. The last one of the three was the best and it helped Pakistan over the 300-run mark. Just when it looked that Imam's departure for 151 would make a difference of 20 runs in the end, the lower order wielded the long handle to good effect and took the score to a mammoth one.
  • An absolutely magnificent batting performance from Pakistan in this innings that has lasted exactly 4 hours! Imam was the star of the show with a scintillating knock of 151 but the 3 partnerships that he had in the middle were the main reason why the Asian side could get to their second consecutive 350-plus score, only the second time in ODIs by them! Lusty hits from the lower order too were equally important for the Men in Green to cross the 350-run mark.
  • 49.6 No, they do not get 360 but what a batting performance this has been! A fuller ball wide outside off by Willey. Hasan lets the ball go and expects a wide but the umpire says that he had moved closer to the ball so it is given as a fair ball. Anyway 16 runs from the last over and PAKISTAN END ON 358/9!!!
  • 49.5 SIX! Low full toss and that has ended up outside the park! Hasan swings and swings hard! A huge hit over wide long on. Can Pakistan touch 360?
  • 49.4 FOUR! What a shot this is! A fuller length ball from around the wicket outside off, Hasan comes inside the line and scoops this over square leg who is inside the circle! The ball goes to the fence.
  • 49.3 Swing and a miss! Fuller one outside off, Hasan looks to slog this ball but fails to put bat on ball.
  • Junaid Khan is in next.
  • 49.2 OUT! Remarkable catch! Off the weaker hand! A short ball on middle, Shaheen looks to pull it away but the ball goes off the top half of the bat and lobs in front of cover-point. Willey runs there in his followthrough, outstretches his right hand and holds on for the catch. Stunner! Pakistan might still be bowled out here.
  • 49.1 SIX! That has crossed the rope. 2 sixes in 2 balls! A fuller length ball on middle, Shaheen gets under the line of the ball as Willey misses the yorker length. The ball goes over the bowler's head and falls beyond the rope!
  • David Willey to bowl the final over of the innings.
  • 48.6 SIX! What a shot! Jab off the wrists. A fuller length ball on middle, Hasan lifts the ball over long on with just a half swing of the bat. Huge! 342/8
  • 48.5 Hasan looks to slog the length ball outside off but misses the ball completely.
  • 48.4 The batsman guides it to third man. One run added to the total as Afridi gets off the mark.
  • 48.3 Good ball in the blockhole, driven down to mid off.
  • Shaheen Afridi walks out to bat now.
  • 48.2 OUT! The review works! The impact is in line and it's hitting the stumps! The boundary is cancelled and instead, this is a wicket and a dot ball as well. Low full toss on leg stump, the ball gets Faheem right on the boot. The umpire says no to the appeal and Eoin Morgan reviews immediately. The replays show that the ball is in line and then going on to the leg stump. That looked like it was outside the line of leg but somehow the replay has worked like a marvel.
  • Review time! An appeal for LBW was turned down against Faheem. The ball had gone away to third man for a boundary. Let's see what the replays say...
  • 48.1 On a length on off, pushed to deep point for a single by Faheem. Oh no, wait! A misfield in the deep allows for the second run to be taken!
  • 47.6 Short of a length on the body of the batsman, Faheem pulls it to deep fine leg and keeps strike for the next over. 333/7
  • 47.5 Pulled away to deep mid-wicket for a single by Hasan.
  • 47.4 Good bouncer! Aimed at the head of the batsman, Hasan ducks under the ball and lets it go.
  • 47.3 Cut away wide of point for a single by the southpaw.
  • 47.3 Wide! The bouncer on off goes too high. Faheem wanted to ramp that but cannot get bat to ball. The umpire wides it.
  • 47.2 Back of a length on top of off, pushed back towards mid off for a single by Hasan.
  • 47.1 Short length ball on middle, pulled away to deep square leg for a run.
  • Liam Plunkett is back on.
  • 46.6 Fuller on middle, driven to the left of extra-cover and the Pakistan batsmen complete a quick single. Woakes ends his bowling display today with 10-0-67-4! 327/7
  • 46.5 FOUR! The short boundary doing the trick here. A short ball on middle, Faheem pulls this not too comfortably. The ball goes off the top half and towards the left of deep square leg who cannot keep it in.
  • Hasan Ali walks out now...
  • 46.4 OUT! Fourth wicket for Woakes! A short ball does the trick once more. It was the slower bouncer, Wasim wanted a big one and looks to pull but gets a top edge that goes straight up and not far. Chris runs there and takes the catch easily off his own bowling near mid-wicket. Some smiles for the English bowling line-up as one of its bowlers is doing really well.
  • 46.3 FOUR! What a shot! This was on a length but the gap is found to precision by Wasim. He swats this between extra-cover and mid off. Brilliant timing.
  • 46.2 Slower bouncer followed by a quicker one, Faheem is hurried into his pull shot and mistimes it in the air at mid-wicket. No one inside the circle in that region and the batsmen cross.
  • 46.1 Slower bouncer around off, Ashraf stays back and allows it through, probably thinking that it's too high and will be called a wide.
  • 45.6 Faheem keeps strike for the next over with a single to deep mid-wicket. 317/6
  • 45.5 Driven down to long off for a single.
  • 45.4 FOUR! Right back over the bowler's head! A half-volley on middle, Wasim smacks it down the ground. Long off or long on had no chance to even move!
  • 45.3 Fuller on the pads, flicked away through mid-wicket for a single by Faheem. He gets off the mark.
  • Faheem Ashraf is in next with 28 balls left in the innings.
  • 45.2 OUT! Bowled 'em! Yorker from Curran and that brings this magnificent knock from Imam to an end. He tries to make room after coming down the ground to force it away but the ball is missed. It goes onto uproot the off stump. The whole crowd applauds Imam as he walks off. Truly has put his team in a good position in the game.
  • 45.1 Misses out! A slower ball on length outside off, Imam looks to slog it out of the park but fails to make any contact as he was into his shot too early.
  • Tom Curran is back on.
  • 44.6 Imam has hit Imad! A fuller length ball on off, Imam hits a full-blooded shot back down the ground but finds his partner. The ball ricochets off Wasim and goes towards long on for a single. 310/5
  • 44.5 Low full toss on the pads, Wasim runs down the track and mistimes his drive to mid off. A single is taken!
  • 44.4 FOUR! Wasim slashes this short one over point and to the rope for a boundary. Lovely shot, quick thinking.
  • 44.3 150 for Imam! Stand up and applaud the man! A fine innings from him. A length ball on top of off, pulled away to deep mid-wicket to get to the landmark. It is his first score of 150 or more in ODIs.
  • 44.2 Imad reads the slower bouncer and waits for the ball to come to him before pulling it to deep mid-wicket for a single.
  • 44.1 Short of a length on middle, pulled away to deep mid-wicket for a single by Imam. 149!
  • 43.6 Pushed down the ground for a run by Imam and he keeps strike for the next over. 301/5
  • 43.5 Worked away to deep mid-wicket for a run and the 300 is up for Pakistan!
  • 43.4 FOUR! Off the outside edge and over backward point. Not where Wasim wanted it to go but he will take it. A length ball on middle, Imad comes down the track to pull the ball but gets an outside edge that flies over the two fielders in the circle. It goes to the boundary.
  • 43.3 Flicked away to short fine leg who makes a diving stop to save 3 runs for his team.
  • 43.2 FOUR! Full toss on the pads, Imam just clips it off his pads and beats deep backward square leg to his left. Jordan with a desperate attempt to save that ball from going to the rope but fails.
  • 43.1 Driven down to long on for a single by the southpaw.
  • 42.6 Imad gets off the mark with a push towards deep cover. Good over from Woakes! 7 runs and a wicket off it. 289/5
  • 42.5 Pushed towards point by Wasim.
  • 42.4 Fuller on off, flicked away through mid on for a single. Imam gets the new man on strike now.
  • Imad Wasim walks out to bat now.
  • 42.3 OUT! Asif departs! Caught at mid off! Looks like he was beaten by pace! A short ball on off, Ali looks to play a cross-batted shot and pull the ball but he cannot time it at all! The ball goes only as far as mid off where Roy takes the simplest of catches. A really good innings from Asif comes to an end, but he has helped Pakistan get to this position with his 125-run stand with Imam.
  • 42.2 Short of a length, pulled away to deep square leg for a single by Imam.
  • 42.1 FOUR! Full toss outside off, Imam hits the ball over point. There is no one in the deep and hence the southpaw picks up another boundary. The full toss was almost above waist height.
  • 41.6 Asif goes after a wide one but misses. 282/4
  • 41.5 Another really full one outside off, Imam drives this to deep cover for a single.
  • 41.4 Pushed to the cover region by Asif. The batsmen have run through for a single.
  • 41.3 NOT OUT! Asif reaches just in time. A yorker on middle and leg, Imam looks to flick it away but fails to get it anywhere as the ball goes on his foot after hitting the bat. It rolls near the stumps and just goes behind. The batsmen run for a single and the keeper, comes towards the ball and kicks it onto the stumps at the striker's end. The appeal is taken up, but replays show that it is not out.
  • Run out appeal! Football skills this time from Bairstow! Looks like the batsman was in though...
  • 41.3 Wide! Down the leg side again!
  • 41.2 Good ball! In the blockhole, Imam flicks it through mid-wicket and seeing that the ball has not gone with too much timing, the southpaw comes back for the second run. Completes it easily.
  • 41.2 Wide! Another wide. England bowling a lot today. Willey this time the culprit who sprays this well down leg.
  • 41.1 Really full outside off, Asif jams it past short third man for a run.
  • 40.6 FIFTY FOR ASIF ALI! A length ball on the hips, Ali pats it fine on the leg side for a run. His 3rd fifty in ODIs! This has been a really important innings at the right time for his team. 10 runs came off that over. 274/4
  • 40.5 SIX! Huge! A short length ball on middle, Asif whacks it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie. The ball ends in the stands. Stand and deliver stuff this.
  • 40.4 Bouncer! Asif Ali ducks under the ball and lets it go.
  • 40.3 Another pull shot to deep mid-wicket by the southpaw for a single.
  • 40.2 Shorter one on off, pulled wide of long on for a single.
  • 40.1 Back of a length, Imam looks to pull this one over long on but the ball gets him high on the bat and the mistimed shot goes towards long on for a single after landing well short.
  • Powerplay 3 time. One additional fielder (5) can be kept outside the circle now till the end of the innings.
  • 39.6 14 from the over! 10 more to go, shaping up for a big finish. Fuller and outside off, driven through covers for a run. 264/4
  • 39.5 The batsman plays the pull-shot to deep square leg. They pick up a single.
  • 39.4 SIX! Into the crowd! Curran lands it fuller and outside off, Asif shuffles across the stumps to line himself up and dispatches it over long on for a maximum. 100 stand comes up in quick time and Pakistan are on the charge.
  • 39.3 Fuller and straighter, Imam drops it down with soft hands to the off side for a run.
  • 39.2 FOUR! Easily done. Fine leg is up and this is the last line you would like to bowl as a bowler. On the pads and Imam just helps it wide of short fine leg for a boundary.
  • 39.1 Full toss outside off, Asif forces it through covers and takes a single. This stand is now 11 short of a century.
  • 38.6 Clever from Imam but he fails to beat the short third man fielder. Woakes delivers a slower one on middle, Imam moves back to make room and opens the face of his bat late. But there ain't much pace to work with and he ends up hitting it straight to the fielder. 250/4
  • Third man comes up. Mid on drops back.
  • 38.5 Gives himself room to play the shot on the off side but finds the extra cover fielder.
  • 38.4 Aerial but safe! Woakes delivers it short and on off, Imam tries powering it across the line but it flies off the top half of his bat and goes over point. Two taken to bring 250 up for Pakistan.
  • 38.3 The batsman defends it from within the crease.
  • 38.2 Short in length on off, Imam runs down the track and pulls it down to deep mid-wicket. Stokes runs across to his right in the deep to stop the racing ball and saves two runs.
  • 38.1 Width on offer outside off, Ali stays back and runs it down to third man for a run.
  • Chris Woakes is back on. A couple of wickets to his name so far.
  • 37.6 The batsman has played it towards mid-wicket. One run added to the total. 245/4
  • 37.5 Digs in a short ball on off, pulled to deep mid-wicket for a brace.
  • 37.4 Direct hit at the bowler's end would have been curtains for Imam! A length ball outside off, Asif pats it down to short third man and his partner comes running out of the crease in search of a run. He is sent back as Roy running across to his left from point, picks up the ball but misses his shy at the bowler's end.
  • 37.3 Driven through mid on by the batsman. One run added to the total.
  • 37.2 Back of a length ball outside off, tapped down to point for one.
  • 37.2 Wide! Sliding down the leg side, Ali tries flicking but misses.
  • 37.1 FOUR! Boom! Short in length and on off, nicely sitting up to the batsman, Asif rides the bounce and pulls it powerfully to the deep mid-wicket fence.
  • 36.6 Beaten this time. On a length and outside off, zipping off the surface, Imam pushes inside the line and misses. 15 from the over, 26 in the last two, the charge is on. 235/4
  • 36.5 The line is on middle stump this time and Imam clips it to deep mid-wicket for two.
  • 36.4 FOUR! Eased away! Wrong line from Willey. He serves a length ball down the leg side and Imam deflects it neatly off his pads to fine leg for a boundary.
  • 36.3 SIX! That's a magnificent shot! Clean hit. Willey angles in a half-volley on middle, it's right in the slot for the batsman and he heaves it over wide long on for a biggie. Certainly looking to up the ante after his century.
  • 36.2 Length ball on middle, not much room, Asif keeps it out on the off side and Imam calls him through for a quick run.
  • 36.2 Wide! Bouncer down the leg side, the batsman ducks.
  • 36.1 Shortish and on off, guided down to third man for a run.
  • 35.6 Driven through mid on by the batsman. They pick up a single. 220/4
  • 35.5 Short and on off, pulled in front of square leg for one.
  • 35.4 FOUR! Shot! All timing, zero power. Mid on is up in the circle and it's a safe shot. Full and on middle, Asif presents a straight bat and chips it over the infield for a gorgeous boundary. The intent has changed now from both batsmen.
  • 35.3 Angling down the leg side, Imam tickles it behind square leg for a run.
  • 35.2 FOUR! Lovely use of the feet by Imam! He steps down the track to a length ball and smacks it past the extra cover fielder for a boundary. He is currently batting at a strike rate of 105.1!
  • 35.1 Fullish and on off, it's pushed back to the bowler with a straight bat.
  • Tom Curran is back on.
  • 34.6 Stays back and taps it down to point. Two runs only from the over. 209/4
  • 34.5 The batsman goes for the hook but misses the line of the delivery.
  • 34.4 Here it is... 6th ODI hundred for Imam-ul-Haq! A fantastic knock by the southpaw. A delivery sliding down the leg side, Imam eases it off his pads to fine leg for one. He raises his bat to the crowd and soaks all the applause. Brilliant batting from the young man. He has seen wickets tumbling at the other end but kept his end nice and tight. This is now the third handy partnership he has been involved in today. Needs to stay till the end.

  • 34.2 Short in length on middle, pulled behind square leg for a single.
  • 34.1 Good length ball on middle, Asif pushes it down to mid on.
  • David Willey comes back on.
  • 33.6 Short of a length outside off, Imam pulls this ball away behind square leg. The ball goes in the empty region to the right of deep fine leg easily and reaches the rope. Lovely shot. 99 now! 207/4

  • 33.3 Asif Ali drives this through the covers and picks up another single.
  • 33.2 Flicked behind square leg for a couple of runs. Curran in the deep slides down and stops the ball and then throws it to Chris Woakes who throws it to the keeper. Keeps the batsmen down to two there.
  • 33.1 Direct hit but Imam was well in. A really full ball outside off, Imam pushes the ball towards the left of point where Roy picks the ball and hits the stump at the bowler's end. Good fielding but the single is completed.

  • 32.5 The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.

  • 31.6 Pushed towards mid-wicket and Imam wants a single but his partner sends him back. 191/4

  • 31.4 Asif chops this ball without any timing towards point.
  • 31.3 Short ball on middle, Imam swivels and pulls this away to deep fine leg for a single.
  • 31.2 Flicked away through mid-wicket for a run by AA.
  • 31.1 Outside off on a length, Asif looks to poke that down to third man but fails to put bat on ball.
  • DRINKS BREAK! Pakistan have lost two wickets from the previous drinks break but Imam ul Haq has been solid at one end. He is nearing his hundred and Pakistan will want him to stay till the end and make this really big. Meanwhile, a wicket or two will mean that England can really restrict the away side to a below par total. The final segment of this innings coming up!
  • 30.6 Good running but that is a poor throw. Imam turns this ball away through square leg and comes back for the second run. Asif was in a little trouble but to his relief, the throw was a wide one. Easy two completed despite Moeen flicking the ball back onto the stumps at the bowler's end. 188/4
  • 30.5 Imam comes down the track this time but Ali smartly shortens the length. The ball goes towards mid-wicket.
  • 30.4 Flicked to deep mid-wicket by the right-hander for a run.

  • 29.5 Flicked towards mid-wicket this time.
  • 29.4 FOUR! Quick onto that short ball and Imam picks up a boundary. The southpaw rocked back in the crease and pulls this one wide of mid on. Good timing and a lush, fast outfield means that the ball ends reaching the rope.

  • 29.2 Pushed to deep cover for a single by the batsman.

  • 28.4 Flighted on middle and leg, pushed down to long on for a single.

  • 28.2 Flighted full toss outside leg, Imam gets low and sweeps this past short fine leg. The fielder in the deep comes around and keeps the ball in. 2 runs taken.
  • Stat alert - Imam-ul-Haq has converted all his fifties whenever he has batted first in ODIs prior to today. Pakistan need him to do that dearly and last the distance also.
  • 28.1 Flatter on middle, driven down the ground to long off for a single by Asif.
  • Joe Denly to bowl his leggies. Adil Rashid is rested for this match, so he gets a chance to show his talent with the ball.

  • 27.4 Back of a length on middle, defended towards mid-wicket by Imam.
  • Asif Ali is the new batsman.
  • 27.3 OUT! The dive saved him last ball but this ball he decides to get himself out by playing an atrocious shot! A length ball on middle, Sarfaraz wants to slog the ball over deep mid-wicket but gets the top edge and it goes really high. The ball is in the air for a long time, these catches are not easy but Chris Jordan, the substitute fielder, takes the catch with real calmness. Lovely pair of hands and the Pakistan skipper has to depart. That brings an end to the 67-run stand and Imam watches another batsman get dismissed from the other end.
  • 27.2 NOT OUT! The value of the dive! It has saved Sarfaraz. A length ball outside off, pushed away from point for a couple of runs. The second run was a risky one and Sarfaraz dives to get in as the throw was a good one. The umpire takes the appeal upstairs and the replays show the dive has saved the batsman. Good technique with the dive too!

  • 25.4 Worked off the hips through mid-wicket for a single by Imam.
  • 25.3 The batsman opens the face of the bat and helps it to third man. They have run through for a single.
  • 25.2 FOUR! Super shot! A length ball on off, Imam comes down the ground and hits it past mid off. Once it passes that man, there is no stopping that ball as this ground has short straighter boundaries.
  • 25.1 Imam pulls this short one away through backward square leg. The ball goes in the gap and 2 runs are taken.
  • 24.6 FOUR! First signs of aggression from Sarfaraz. Length ball on off, Ahmed hits it hard aerially wide of mid on for a boundary. 142/3
  • 24.5 Pushed towards mid-wicket for a run by Imam.
  • 24.4 Back of a length on middle, defended back to the bowler from the crease.
  • 24.3 Slower ball down the leg side but Imam had come running down the ground to hit that. He misses the ball and it goes off the boot towards the keeper. Initially, the umpire was going to give a wide but his partner tells him that there was something on it so he does not go on with his decision.
  • 24.2 Run down to third man by Sarfaraz and he exchanges strike.
  • 24.1 On the pads, flicked away by the southpaw through square leg for a single.
  • 23.6 Turns a length ball behind square leg for a single. 135/3
  • 23.5 Drifting down the leg side, Ahmed fails to flick and is hit on the pads. They cross for a leg bye.
  • 23.4 Overthrow! A length ball on middle, Imam taps it down in front of square leg and looks for a run. His partner sends him back seeing Morgan charging to the ball. The English skipper fires in the throw that Bairstow fails to collect and now the batsmen cross.
  • 23.3 Brilliant fielding and equally brilliant running between the wickets. Short delivery outside off, Imam cracks it off his back foot through point and Willey runs across to his right in the deep to make an outstanding diving stop, saving a certain boundary. He then fires in a brilliant throw to the keeper who breaks the stumps as Imam dives in full length. Great commitment shown by the players from both sides. Two added to the total.
  • 23.2 Appeal for a run out! Short in length around off, Ahmed mistimes his pull shot towards mid-wicket where the fielder moves across to his right to stop the ball. He then has a shy at the bowler's end where the fielder collects it and breaks the stumps. They appeal but the umpire shakes his head. The replays show that Sarfaraz was safely in.

  • 21.3 Digs in a short ball on middle and leg, Imam pulls it down to long leg where Moeen Ali does well to run across and get down low to pick the ball with his right hand. He releases the ball quickly also but cannot prevent the batsmen from taking the second run.

  • Sarfaraz Ahmed walks out to bat now.
  • 16.4 OUT! Haris Sohail is found not to be just run out but also lazy in his attempt to drag his bat in. Dear me, moments like these change the complexion of the game entirely. The 68-run stand is broken and Pakistan will have to start all over again. Coming to the delivery, Tom delivers a good length ball on middle and Imam goes on his back foot to defend. It takes the inner half and rolls near the stumps off his pads. Sohail senses the chance for a run and calls his partner quickly. Imam responds and Curran also sprints across towards the ball. He then shows his football skills to deflect the ball onto the stumps as Sohail tries to get in. They appeal and the square leg umpire goes upstairs. The replays show that Sohail hasn't stretched himself enough while dragging his bat. He is short of the crease and will have to go. Sohail was batting with so much fluency and this certainly is a big blow to Pakistan. A basic mistake, that and England get a bonus wicket.
  • Shout for a run out! Tom Curran has shown his football skills to deflect the ball on the stumps at the striker's end. Is Haris Sohail out? Let's find out...

  • 16.1 Curran tries to begin his spell with a yorker on middle but ends up serving a low full toss. Imam pushes it down to mid on and scampers across to the other end.
  • Drinks break. Pakistan have recovered well after losing two big wickets. The current pair is batting with a lot of confidence and Haris Sohail, in particular, has looked quite fluent in the last few overs. The pitch has nothing to offer to the bowlers after giving some assistance initially and now the English team will have to bowl really well. Tom Curran to bowl after the mini-break.
  • 15.6 Lands it on a length around off, Sohail gets behind the line and defends it back with a straight willow. A much-better over from Liam. 93/2

  • 13.4 FOUR! Sweetly timed! Once again the gap is threaded with surgical accuracy. Plunkett bowls a full length delivery around off from 'round the wicket, Sohail crunches it past the diving extra cover fielder for a boundary as the mid off fielder tries chasing it. 50-run stand comes up!
  • 13.3 Sohail has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
  • 13.2 FOUR! Timing and placement. Not for the first time today, the ball has raced off the outfield. Good length delivery angling down the leg side, Sohail tucks it off his pads and places it behind square leg. The fine leg fielder runs across to his right, the mid-wicket fielder sprints across to his left but it bisects them both and finds the fence.

  • 11.6 Sohail has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery. 67/2
  • 11.5 NOT OUT! Back of a length ball delivered on middle and leg, Sohail shuffled across the stumps and tried to play but it kissed his gloves and went behind. Bairstow dived across to his right and seemed to have caught it but he wasn't appealing. Plunkett was interested though. Hence, the umpires took it upstairs. The replays rolled in and they showed that initially Jonny went with both hands but then seeing the ball dip in, he tried to grab it with his right glove. The ball though touched the ground before settling in his gloves. A fair decision is made eventually.
  • What happened there? England are appealing for a catch. Has that carried to Bairstow? The soft signal is not out...
  • 11.4 A length ball on leg, Imam gets on top of the bounce and helps it through square leg for one.
  • 11.3 Back of a length ball on off, Sohail gets across the stumps and glances it in front of square leg for a run.

  • Third man comes up and the cover fielder drops back. Root at extra cover is pushed back at the edge of the circle.

  • 9.2 Sohail has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
  • 9.1 FOUR! Pristine timing! Willey needs to pull his length back a little bit. There isn't any movement available now at it's bread and butter for any batsman. A juicy half-volley outside off and it's thumped through covers for a boundary.
  • 8.6 Woakes switches to over the wicket for Imam and beats his bat after angling across a length ball outside off. No footwork shown by the opener. 49/2
  • 8.5 Shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
  • 8.4 A little short and on off, Sohail goes on the back foot and glides it down to third man off the outside half of his bat. A single is taken. This partnership has seen more boundaries than singles or doubles. They haven't rotated the strike well.

  • 6.1 Good length ball on off, angling away from the southpaw, Sohail covers his stumps and shoulders arms.
  • 5.6 Fullish and on off, Imam uses his wrists and works it through mid-wicket for a couple of runs. 11 from this over, 19 in the last two, Pakistan are getting runs in spite of losing two wickets. 38/2

  • Haris Sohail walks in next.
  • 4.5 OUT! A ripper by Woakes to breach the defense of Pakistan's best batsman. Wow, talk about taking revenge for the last two balls. A perfect inswinger from Chris. He lands it on a good length just around off and gets it to swerve back in after hitting the deck. Babar Azam is caught napping on the back foot as he tries to defend it. But the ball keeps on coming into him and goes past his blade to disturb the top of off stump. What a sight for a fast bowler! Second wicket for Woakes and he has provided an excellent start for England.
  • 4.4 FOUR! Misfield and it has sped away to the fence. Good length ball on middle and leg, Azam turns it with gentle hands in front of square leg. • 0.6 OUT! The centurion of the last match departs cheaply today. Perfect delivery from Woakes. He angles across a good length delivery outside off and Zaman pokes inside the line without any footwork. It takes the outside edge and flies to Root who catches it in the second attempt. First the ball popped out of his hands but the English Test skipper sticks his right hand out to grab it in front of first slip. Early setback for Pakistan. 7/1

  • Toss - Up goes the coin and it falls in favour of Eoin Morgan. ENGLAND WILL FIELD!
  • Hello and welcome everyone for the third ODI between England and Pakistan in Bristol. It's bright and sunny at the moment and there is no threat of rain on this game, the most important information at the moment in this part of the world. As far as this series is concerned, England lead it 1-0 after a narrow win in Southampton. Pakistan pushed the hosts in the last game but still have plenty of issues to address, especially with their bowling. For the English team, their batting has been strong always and they too will try to get more clinical with in the bowling department. We are expecting a few changes in both the teams and let's find that out at the toss...

England Vs Pakistan Live Score (ODI) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • That's all from this high-scoring but one-sided game. 717 runs came in total as their was no respite for the bowlers on this minuscule ground in Bristol. The action for the fourth ODI moves to Nottingham. Do join us on 17th May at 1300 local (1200 GMT) for all the action. Cheers!
  • Jonny Bairstow is chosen for the Man of the Match award. He led the charge of England's batting superbly with his 93-ball 128.
  • Earlier in the day, powered by Imam-ul-Haq's impressive century and some handy contributions from Haris Sohail and Asif Ali, Pakistan posted their best ODI total batting first in England. At the halfway stage, they would have really fancied their chances but the way their bowling faltered was really disappointing.
  • Abysmal bowling and fielding performance from Pakistan. Jason Roy was dropped when he was on 21 and after that, their bowlers received a real pounding. There wasn't a single bowler who left any impact or created any pressure. To add to that, their ground fielding was also very substandard. With the World Cup knocking on the door, Pakistan have a really big issue to address.
  • It was a usual story for England. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow went berserk at the start and put together a 159-run stand in no time. That pegged Pakistan back and in spite of losing Jason Roy, the English team always remained in front. Bairstow and Root then combined for yet another handy partnership to keep the visiting team on the back foot. All the batsmen to follow after that contributed to the cause and eventually it was a very easy and comprehensive victory for the numero uno ODI team.
  • A cakewalk! England have chased down a target of 359 with ridiculous ease. Didn't even break a sweat. Insane batting. The bowlers suffered yet again. Really feel bad for them. This is the joint fifth highest run chase in ODI history and it has been done with 31 balls to spare. Dominance of the bat at its very best.
  • 44.5 Surely not! Morgan pushes this ball through the point region and picks up the winning run. ENGLAND WIN BY 6 WICKETS and WITH 31 BALLS TO SPARE. They take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series!
  • 44.4 Short on middle, Ali misses out on the chance to get a big one and score a fifty. He hits this to long on aerially for a single. Only 1 needed now! Morgan not going to defend 2 balls surely. Is he?
  • 44.3 The batsman has driven it through mid on. One run added to the total.
  • 44.2 FOUR! This is powered away! A short ball wide outside off, slashed so hard that deep cover has no chance this time. All the way to the fence.
  • 44.1 Shorter one outside off, punched away to the left of deep cover for a couple by Morgan.
  • Asif Ali comes on.
  • 43.6 Low full toss on off, driven back to mid off. Shaheen ends a really bad day with figures of 10-0-83-0! 350/4
  • 43.5 SIX! Deep into the crowd again! A short length ball on middle, Moeen swings this over deep square leg. Huge! The 350 comes up for the hosts. 9 needed now.
  • 43.4 Full toss on the pads, Morgan did not expect that and manages to just push it towards deep square leg for a run.
  • 43.3 Yorker outside off, jammed away to deep backward point for a single by Ali. 9 runs off the first 3 balls of this over.

  • 42.6 Driven towards mid off by the skipper. 334/4
  • 42.5 SIX! There is number 14 of this England innings. A short length ball on middle and leg, Morgan lets this one fly. He pulls it with power over deep square leg and into the stands. This is merry-making by the English batsmen. Every single one who has batted has hit a six today.

  • 41.4 Slashed away to deep backward point by Moeen to bring his skipper on strike for the first time.
  • 41.3 Play and a miss! Outside off on a length, Ali looks to cut but misses the ball. It goes to the keeper.
  • Eoin Morgan walks in next.
  • 41.2 OUT! An unfortunate run out for Ben Stokes. Fuller length ball on off, Moeen absolutely drills it back towards the bowler. It deflects off Afridi's left leg to the stumps and Stokes is found strolling out of his crease. Ben knows that and starts to walk to the pavilion. He has a wry smile on his face and also gives thumbs up to his partner. Mere formality left in this match.
  • 41.1 NOT OUT! Yes, the impact is outside off! Stokes survives and Pakistan lose their review. A full toss outside off, Stokes looks to paddle this over fine leg by shuffling across the stumps but misses the ball. He gets hit on the pads. There is an appeal which is turned down by the umpire. Sarfaraz takes a review, maybe in desperation. The replays show that the impact of the ball is outside off and hence the umpire can remain with his original decision!
  • Review time! An LBW appeal against Stokes has been turned down. Ben looked to ramp this full toss but missed it and got hit on the pads. Looked like it was outside off, the impact though!
