  • The players are back out in the middle. Shan Masood and Imam-ul-Haq are the openers for Pakistan. The question now is - Will the strawberry swing? Mitchell Starc will try and be the first person to answer. Masood to face.
  • So with a humongous score of 589, Pakistan will need to fight out of their skins to even save this Test. The onus will be on the openers to provide them with a good start as the sun is setting down. Australia will look to grab a couple of scalps before the final session. What will happen? Join us in a while for Pakistan's first innings.
  • A forgetful performance by the visitors. Barring Shaheen Afridi no one showed much of a fight with the pink ball. They managed to get only three wickets and all of them went to the left-arm pacer. Musa Khan would like to erase this debut from his memory. Yasir Shah had a dreadful game as well. Abbas had a nightmare return. Well, when a team scores 589 and manages to lose just 3 wickets, then it is pretty evident that the bowlers have had a horror show.
  • What a batting masterclass from David Warner. A knock to cherish for him. His massive, massive score of 335 along with 162 from Marnus Labuschagne has seen Australia declare for a humongous score of 589/3. Steven Smith and Matthew Wade played good supporting roles helping Warner make the second highest run scorer for Australia in an innings.
  • That will be the declaration. David Warner walks off to a standing ovation from the crowd. His teammates are standing around the ropes giving him an ovation as well.
  • 126.6 Shorter on off, Warner punches it through cover-point and gets a single. Takes him past Sir Don Bradman's best score.
  • 126.5 Floated on off, Matthew strokes it to long off for a single.
  • 126.4 Shorter on off, Warner strokes it wide of mid-wicket and looks for a couple. He gets one but cannot get the second. Levels Sir Don Bradman and Mark Taylor's score.
  • 126.3 On the pads, Wade flicks it to the on side and gets a single.
  • 126.2 Slightly shorter on off, Warner punches it to mid-wicket for a run.
  • 126.1 Tossed up on off and middle, Warner comes down the track and glances it wide of long on and gets a couple.
  • So - what is the topic of discussion? Of course - the 400 by Brian Lara. But spare a thought for Sir Don Bradman. Remember Mark Taylor's innings when he declared and same for Michael Clarke? Both felt that the Don's score should not be surpassed. Don't think Warner has any such intention to stop at this juncture. Michael Hussey raises a good point on air though. Should Australia wait for Warner to get to his 400? There is really bad weather forecast for Day 3 but Michael Vaughan believes that Australia's bowling attack is so good that they can take 10 wickets twice on this pitch, in 2 days.
  • 125.6 Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat. 582/3
  • 125.5 Good running. Back of a length ball around the body, Wade tucks it to the leg side and calls for a quick single. The fielder gets to the ball quickly and scores a direct hit at the keeper's end. Warner is well in though. The ball goes towards the third man region and they steal another run. Two taken in total.

  • 125.3 Back of a length ball on off, Wade hops on to defend it.

  • 121.3 SIX! First one of the game for Warner and it has come after more than 500 minutes on the crease. Slightly shorter from Abbas. Warner has decided to get into the 6th gear as he whacks his pull over mid-wicket for a maximum. Crosses the highest score in Day/Night Tests in style.

  • 119.1 FOUR! Yes! Yes! Yes! TRIPLE HUNDRED FOR DAVID WARNER! Wow! This is one of the best knocks you will ever see. He has played superbly in this innings. He is pumped up and its his moment to cherish. He sprints, jumps and pumps the air for the umpteenth time in this game. He removes his helmet and raises his bat with a huge smile on his face. The whole of Adelaide crowd is on its feet to applaud the knock of the genius. He bows down like an artist and soaks in all the applause. Warner then once again looks at the heavens remembering his friend and former teammate Phil Hughes. Back of a length ball around off, Warner pulls it to get to his maiden Test triple ton. Shaheen Afridi is on his bike as he starts celebrating. The others appeal but the umpire is unmoved. They have a chat about it and decide to take it upstairs. Replay rolls in and Hot Spot shows no mark as the ball goes past the bat. The sound was of the ball hitting the pad.

  • 111.2 Good length ball on off, Wade starts off with a solid back foot defense.
  • Matthew Wade is the new batsman in.
  • 111.1 OUT! Caught! This is a very strange shot from Steven Smith. You do not see him getting out like that especially in Tests. Fuller outside off, the ball comes in just a bit. Smith goes for a big hoick down the leg side. The ball kisses the inside edge and goes to the left of the keeper. Rizwan does really well to dive on that side and takes a good, good catch. Third wicket for Shaheen Afridi. He has been the only shining spot in this bowling unit. Maybe Australia are looking to declare sooner rather than later and are looking for quick runs maybe that's why the shot.

Rizwan takes it and goes up in a solid appeal along with Yasir Shah. The umpire turns it down. Pakistan do not go for the review. • ... Day 2, Session 2 ...
  • It was another timid performance by the visitors with the strawberry. Once again apart from Shaheen Afridi none of them looked quite threatening. Muhammad Musa's debut has been a forgetful one so far as he almost had sent Warner packing but he overstepped his line. Yasir Shah too has had a torrid time going for over 6 rpo and being wicketless. The body language of the hosts has been very poor and by the looks of it it looks like they have already surrendered. Overall it was a scrappy performance by the tourists. Will Australia's onslaught continue or will Pakistan show some fight? Join us after the break to find out.
  • What a brilliant session for the hosts. They have made a mind-boggling 173 runs in this session and have lost just a solitary wicket. Labuschagne and Warner continued from where they left off on Day 1. Labuschagne got to his 150 but departed early on as the second new ball was taken. Smith then joined Warner and made it feel like he was batting for a long time as well as he went about his business. David Warner got to his 200 and then rode some luck to get to his 250 before coming out unscathed to Tea with an unbeaten 261. The pair of Smith and Warner have added 106 taking Australia in a commanding position.
  • On being asked about his innings so far, Warner smiles and says that he has had some luck. Tells he is looking to play with discipline and has tried to maintain that. On his celebration on reaching 200, Warner says that one does not always achieve that feat and he is happy to have helped his team.
  • Warner walks out with a huge smile on his face. And the man of the moment is caught down for a quick chat.
  • 107.6 On a good length on off, David defends it out. TEA ON DAY 2! 475/2

  • 106.6 FOUR! Warner is just having fun now. What a shot this is! Floated on middle, Warner switches the grip of his bat, becomes a right-hander and sweeps it through the third man region for a boundary. He plays this shot better than anyone. Used to be a right-hander in his younger days. 474/2
  • 106.5 The batsman defends it from within the crease.
  • 106.4 The batsman works it down the leg side.

  • 103.6 BEATEN! On a good length and outside off, Warner looks to push at it but misses it. The bowler appeals for caught behind but the umpire shakes his head. 461/2
  • 103.5 250 FOR DAVID WARNER! The runs keep piling on for David. The pocket-sized dynamo has had some luck on his way from 200 to 250 but that does not change the fact that it has been a fabulous knock. No trademark Warner jump for this one. He just removes his helmet and raises his bat as everyone in the stadium applauds his effort. Coming to the ball, it is a good length ball on off, Warner looks to defend but it goes off the outside edge wide of second slip. The fielder cleans it up before the ropes. The batters take two.

  • 101.5 BEATEN! On a good length and outside off, Warner looks to cut but misses it.
  • Marnus Labuschagne is giving an interview on the sides. Labuschagne says that they have a great start on the home soil and in this game. Marnus says cricket is a funny game as you score 162 but still walk off disappointed. On Warner's batting says that there is a great intensity and they enjoy batting with each other as they are similar players. Adds it was good to make a big partnership. Says that he has made some technical changes and he just looks to stay in the moment and stay focused rather than getting ahead of himself. He goes for a big drive but ends up getting a thick edge to the left of gully. It goes to Babar Azam who takes the catch. Pakistan cannot celebrate though as the umpire signals it as no ball. End of a superb knock from Marnus Labuschagne. He will be gutted to miss out on a double ton but boy has this not been a gem of an innings to watch! • Welcome to the coverage of Day 2 of this second Test between Australia and Pakistan. The hosts are sitting in the driver's seat having scored 302 in just 73 overs in a reduced day's play on Day 1. David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne are unbeaten on 166 and 126 respectively and the duo will be eyeing their double hundreds putting Australia further in command. It was a timid bowling effort from the hosts and they will need to be much better with the strawberry. Just a solitary wicket on Day 1 shows how far they are already in this Test. Pakistan will need to find some inspiration and try and find a way to fight back in this game. Will they be able to do it?
  • ... Day 2, First session ...
  • So that is it from the Day 1. What is in store for us on Day 2? Will the pair of Warner and Labuschagne build on their tons and pile on the misery or will Pakistan find some source of inspiration and find a way back in this game? Join us on Saturday, 30th November for Day 2 of this Test. There will be a 30 minute early start. The game will begin at 1330 Local (0300 GMT). Hope to see you then. Till then, cheers!
  • It was a challenging and a tiring day for the visitors. Shaheen Afridi was the only bowler who got a wicket. He was the only one who actually looked threatening. Mohammad Abbas bowled consistent lines and lengths but his lack of pace meant the pair saw him off easily. The spinners did not have a good time either as there was hardly any purchase off the surface for them. Muhammad Musa had a very tough outing on his debut going for about 5.5 rpo. All-in-all it was a forgetful outing for the tourists.
  • Excellent day's play for the hosts! Everything apart from Joe Burns' early wicket went their way. After opting to bat the hosts got off to a tough start having lost Joe Burns. Warner and Labuschagne then took their time out in the middle. The duo fought out the tough phase and then started to score at a brisk rate. After a delayed start to the second session, the pair continued their work and just like the first Test both Warner and Labuschagne scored brilliant tons.
  • Warner says that Labuschagne's knock in Queensland was outstanding and was exceptional in this innings as well. Further goes on to say that they will look to do the same on Day 2 as well.

If he keeps a field for full balls, so that his bowlers can try and swing the strawberry, they bowl short. And if he keeps the field back, the short length is too short, not even coming up to chest height. And here is one important stat - Off all balls that Mohammad Abbas has bowled today, NOT ONE would have hit the stumps. He has been consistent with his line but a fraction too short. Having said that, he needs to make the batsmen play more.

Australia Vs Pakistan Live Score (TEST) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • Another unpredictable call from Tim Paine. Many expected him not to enforce follow-on but he has decided to enforce it. The Australian players are waiting near the ropes with their skipper, Tim Paine having a final word with his troops before they take on the field. Shan Masood and Imam-ul-Haq stride out to open the innings for Pakistan.
  • The Aussies were not as good as they were on Day 2. They were poor in the field and their bowling lacked the intensity. Starc was the pick of the bowlers picking up 6 wickets. Cummins had 3 to his name whereas Hazlewood had 1. The spinners were unable to pick up a wicket.
  • What a fight from the tourists. Everyone expected the visitors' innings to be a one session affair at best if not an hour's affair. But Babar Azam and Yasir Shah had other ideas. The duo started the day with the score reading 96/6. The pair added a further 98 runs to take them to 194. Babar fell agonizingly close of 100. But Yasir and Abbas continued to torture the Aussies and added a further 87. Yasir Shah converted his maiden fifty into a hundred taking Pakistan's total to a respectable 302.
  • By the way, Australia have enforced the follow-on. A very bold call from them. Not many would've thought that after conceding over 300, they will enforce the follow-on. But they have.

  • 94.1 Uppish but safe again. Short ball on middle. Shah looks to pull but gets a top edge. It goes towards fine leg for a single.

The Aussies were not at their best in this session. Catches did not carry and Labuschagne was guilty of putting down an easy chance of Yasir Shah. Starc's double-wicket over though saw Australia get their Mojo back. Pakistan still trail by a massive 376 runs but Yasir Shah is continuing his battle. How long can the battle last? Join us after the break to find out.
  • Mitchell Starc is caught down for a quick chat before he heads in for his break. The Australian players start celebrating but Smith indicates that he is unsure whether it is a clean catch or not. The umpires have a word and then take it upstairs with the soft signal as Not Out. Replay rolls in and the T.V. umpire confirms that it is indeed not a clean catch. Smith was standing well behind had he been standing a bit closer then one would feel he could have caught it.
  • Has Smith caught it cleanly? The soft signal is NOT OUT! It looks a close call. It looked to be taken on the bounce to the naked eye.
  • 54.1 Floated leg spinner outside off, Yasir leaves it alone.
  • DRINKS! We are done with the first hour. Pakistan have been superb with the fightback. Babar Azam after reaching his fifty has looked solid and Yasir Shah is superb in giving him good company. The Australian bowler's have dished out everything in their kitty but the two Pakistan batsmen have been full of confidence and determination. An interesting passage of play awaits us.

The fielder at covers pounces on the ball and has a shy at the bowler's end. Yasir was well miles outside the crease when the ball went past the stumps. • 39.5 Beauty from Starc! he keeps one on a length and in that channel of doubt. Shah goes for a push off the back foot. He fails to get to the pitch of the ball as it goes past the outside edge.
  • 39.4 Length and around off, Shah looks to defend it to the off side but gets an inside edge to the leg side.

  • 39.1 Shah looks to defend this length ball to the off side but the ball just about swings to take the outside edge and go all along the ground to the off side. Shah almost got squared up there.
  • 38.6 FOUR! FIFTY FOR BABAR AZAM! His 12th in Tests. This series has been a calling of Babar Azam, the Test match batsman. He gets to his milestone in style as well. On the pads, Azam uses his wrist and flicks it through mid-wicket for a boundary. In a tough circumstance he has been excellent. He raises his bat as everyone applaud his knock. Babar knows the job is nowhere near done and he needs to convert this into a big hundred. 113/6

  • We are all set to begin Day 3! The Australian players are out on the field led by their skipper Tim Paine. Overnight batting pair of Babar Azam and Yasir Shah stride out to resume their innings. Mitchell Starc to start the proceedings for the day.
  • Trail - A massive 493. Wickets in hand - Just 4. Pakistan are staring down at an inevitable follow-on. At this point they can hope for some respectability to the score and for that to happen they need Babar Azam to play another gem. The other thing the visitors would be hoping for is rain. As much as possible so that they can think of saving this Test. But if there's any side who can be absolutely shambolic one day and completely unbeatable the next then it's Pakistan. Australia, on the other hand, will look to continue what they have been doing in this game so far. They'd look to bundle out the tourists as quickly as possible and then either make them bat again or opt otherwise. The weather forecast for the day is not too good. What's in store for us on this all important Day 3 of the second Test?
  • ... Day 3, First Session ...
  • So Day 1 belonged to Australia, Day 2 belonged to Australia. Is it going to be the same on Day 3? By the looks of it anything else would be a surprise. The weather forecast for the day is not too good but let's hope that does not hold true. It is another early start, so join us at 1330 Local (0300 GMT) for the start of Day 3. Till then, cheers!
  • Another disappointing and disheartening day for Pakistan. They were outplayed, outclassed and humiliated by the hosts. First with the bat and then later on with the ball. After being on the field for almost 5 sessions, the tourists would have wanted their openers to fight it out but it was a total capitulation. Only one recognized batsman, Babar Azam is out in the middle along with Yasir Shah. Only a miracle can see them even avoid a follow-on from here on.
  • The day started off for the Aussies with Labuschagne and Warner continuing their good work. Labuschagne's 162 and David Warner's memorable and historic unbeaten 335 saw Australia declare for a giant score of 589. Then, the hosts continued their good work with the ball from the previous Test. as the pace trio of Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood wrecked havoc with the strawberry. Cummins and Hazlewood got one wicket each while Starc was bowling poison and his 4-wicket haul ensured that Australia enter Pakistan's tail.
  • Terrific, terrific day for Australia. A 10/10 day for the hosts. The hero of the day, David Warner gets congratulated by all his teammates and he leads them off the field. It was his day/evening and he has the second highest individual score in Tests for Australia. He bows down to the crowd as they give him a huge applause.
  • 34.6 Full delivery on middle, Yasir defends it out. It is STUMPS ON DAY 2. 96/6
  • 34.5 Back of a length ball outside off, Yasir guides it through gully for another couple. Warner hares after it and cleans it up.
  • 34.4 Full delivery on middle, Shah plays it through mid on and picks up an easy couple.
  • 34.3 BEATEN! Beautiful bowling from Cummins! Bowls it on a length outside off, Yasir looks to defend it but fails to get any bat on it.
  • We are approaching that time of the evening when one would believe that a night watchman is better suited to facing majority of the balls. Protect Babar tonight and unleash him tomorrow afternoon. Having said that, will the tail be able to handle the swing of the New South Wales trio (Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood)? Pakistan would be simply hoping that this period gets seen off quickly. Remember, Yasir Shah has already shown us twice in this series that he is no mug with the bat.
  • 34.2 Good length ball on middle and leg, Babar tucks it to mid-wicket and picks up a single.
  • 34.1 Full delivery on off, Babar defends it out.
  • 33.6 Yasir is not learning! He goes after a wide one again but luckily for him, there is no edge this time too. End of another excellent over by Starc. 91/6
  • 33.5 Full and wide outside off, Yasir goes after it but is beaten. He hasn't learnt from the previous batters. He should not be chasing such balls.
  • 33.4 Back of a length and on off, Yasir defends it awkwardly. It seemed like he lost sight of that delivery.
  • 33.3 Back of a length and on off, this is guided to point.
  • 33.2 Angled into the batter, it is worked to mid-wicket.
  • 33.1 NOT OUT! Nothing on Snicko as it passes the bat. Australia have lost both their reviews now. This is short and down the leg side, Yasir looks to flick but misses. Paine catches the ball and appeals but the umpire shakes his head. Tim reviews after a chat with Starc. Replays roll in and they show nothing.
  • Have Australia got another? A appeal for a caught behind has been taken upstairs. Paine is pretty confident.
  • 32.6 No he cannot. Back of a length on off, Babar defends it off his back foot and shouts a loud no to his partner. 91/6
  • 32.5 Length ball on off, Azam defends it off his back foot. Will Babar be able to take a single of the last ball?
  • 32.4 Beauty! Gem of a ball from Cummins. Even the umpire got excited. Good length ball which looks to come in with the angle. It zips away off the deck. Babar looks to defend but gets squared up.
  • 32.3 Good shot and also good fielding. Fuller outside off, Babar plays one of his classic cover drives. Labuschagne at short cover does well to stop it to his left.
  • 32.2 Attacks the middle pole, Babar defends it with a dead bat.
  • 32.1 Fuller on middle, Babar turns it away to fine leg and gets a couple.
  • 31.6 Good length and on off, defended. End of an over with two wickets in it. Australia or Starc I should say, all over Pakistan at the moment. 89/6
  • Australia are into the tail. Yasir Shah is the new man in. This could be a 150 kph ball. Watch out, Yasira....
  • 31.5 OUT! Another one bites the dust! Once again it is an unbelievable shot from the batter. What are the Pakistan batters doing? They are nearing Stumps and such outrageous shots are being played. Azam will be gutted watching all this from the other end. Starc gets his 4th and it is his second in the same over. It is another nothing delivery, full and wide outside off. Rizwan reaches out for it. The ball goes off the outside edge and it is an easier catch for Paine this time. With around 10 overs to go tonight, we might well see Pakistan being bowled out.
  • 31.4 BEATEN! This lands on off and then it slants away. Rizwan looks to play it but the ball beats the outside edge.
  • 31.3 Almost! This is a length ball outside off, Rizwan plays away from his body, he gets an inside edge onto the pads.
  • Mohammad Rizwan walks out to bat.
  • 31.2 OUT! That is a rippa! Tim Paine, you beauty! But this is a horrendous shot from Ahmed. He did try one similar early on, that time he got beaten but this time the ball finds the edge and it is taken. Starc gets his third and Pakistan have half their side back in the hut before they cross 100. This is a short and wide delivery outside off, Iftikhar throws his bat at it but the ball goes off the outside edge and it is going towards first slip. Paine dives full stretch to his right, sticks one hand out and the ball stays in. Had he missed it, no one would have been able to take the rebound. Joe Burns at first slip had his back turned while the second slip fielder was taking evasive action. The Aussies are absolutely ecstatic. Can they get into the tail tonight?
  • 31.1 Good length and on off, it is defended.
  • 30.6 Length and on off, Azam looks to defend it but gets an inside edge onto the pads. 89/4
  • 30.5 BOUNCER! Azam is happy to duck under it.
  • Unless the players are interested in signing autographs or clicking selfies, hard to understand so many boundary riders. Fine leg, deep square leg, sweeper cover - why? Just because Babar Azam is a terrific driver of the cricket ball? You have batted the best of 5 sessions, so let's face it - you cannot lose from here, can you? Even if you do, it is too early to think about that! Who cares about the runs at this stage of the day? Get all the boundary riders in, pack the slip cordon and if in this process, a few boundaries go by, let them go! But with this field, hard to see a wicket coming off a good ball.
  • 30.4 Length and outside off, Azam drives it through covers but gets it off the outside half off the bat to point. A couple taken.
  • 30.3 Length and down the leg side, Babar tries to flick it but misses it.
  • 30.2 Good stop in the field. Labuschagne makes his presence felt on the ground. Azam plays a free flowing drive through covers on this length ball outside off. Marnus there dives to his right and stops it.
  • 30.1 Length and around off, played to mid off.
  • 29.6 Length and around off, defended to the off side from within the crease 87/4
  • 29.5 Back of a length on middle, Babar taps it to point and crosses to the other end.
  • 29.4 Full and around off, Azam taps it to gully.
  • 29.3 On a length and outside off, Ahmed taps it to point and hares for a quick run.
  • We are approaching the last half an hour of the day's play. I mean, the officially allotted last 30 minutes. Pakistan need both these batsmen to stay till the close. At least, Babar. Australia, will be thinking, as they always do, get one in this passage and then as the saying goes, one gets two, have Pakistan 6 down at Stumps.
  • 29.2 Back of a length and outside off, Azam drives it through covers for a single.
  • 29.1 Full and on off, Azam drives it straight to mid off.
  • 28.6 Good, solid defense to end the over. Fuller around off, IA gets on his front foot and keeps it out. 84/4
  • 28.5 Fuller on off, Iftikhar does well to defend it with a straight bat.
  • 28.4 Pat goes outside off and Iftikhar does not go chasing after it.
  • 28.3 Cummins maintains his length and bowls it closer to off. Iftikhar looks to hit it straight but sends it back to Pat off the bottom half of his bat.
  • 28.2 FOUR! In the air but safe! Good length ball outside off, Iftikhar drives it on the up. He does not time it well and also hits it uppishly. Luckily it is in the gap through covers and has the legs to reach the fence.
  • 28.1 Good length ball on off, Iftikhar pushes it to mid off.
  • Pat Cummins is back on! 10-1-32-1, his numbers so far.
  • 27.6 Back of a length on off, Iftikhar punches it to the off side and keeps the strike with a single. 80/4
  • 27.5 Now Iftikhar has a flash at it but luckily misses. Good length ball on the fourth stump line. Iftikhar falls into the trap and goes for the drive but misses.
  • 27.4 Length ball on off, Iftikhar defends it towards cover.
  • 27.3 This one is closer to the off pole but Iftikhar once again does not flirt with it.
  • 27.2 Good length ball way outside off, Ahmed does not tease it.
  • 27.1 Starc attacks the stumps, Iftikhar pushes it to mid off.
  • 26.6 Good length ball on off, Babar defends it towards the leg side. His bottom hand comes off the grip as he blocks it. 79/4
  • 26.5 Bouncer! Josh tests Babar with another short one. Azam sits under it.
  • 26.4 Fuller on off, Azam this time gets on his front foot and blocks it. Playing some textbook defense is Babar.
  • 26.3 Back of a length on off, Babar gets on his back foot and defends it classically.
  • 26.2 Good running! Length ball on off, Babar dabs it towards backward point and calls for two straightaway. Iftikhar responds and they get the second with ease.
  • Not quite sure with this field set for Babar Azam. They have a slip for him, a straightish mid on and a gully. Babar is a guy who loves to drive and hence, a couple of slips are mandatory. Even though he looks set, but under the lights and with the Aussie bowlers hungry, Paine might set up some fodder for his lions.
  • 26.1 Bouncer around the body but down the leg side. Babar ducks under it.
  • 25.6 Edged but short again! This is on off, it angles away. Ahmed looks to defend it off the back foot but it goes off the outside edge and lands well short of second slip. 77/4
  • 25.5 Outrageous shot that! Not sure why Ahmed played that. Yes, he is an attacking batsman but that was atrocious. Short and way too wide. Ahmed tries to reach out but misses it. Had he been dismissed in that manner, he would have kicked himself.
  • 25.4 Outside off, it is left alone.
  • 25.3 Played to the point region by the batsman.
  • 25.2 Good length and on off, Azam stays back and keeps it out.
  • 25.1 Back of a length and around off, Azam guides it towards point and gets to the other end.
  • 24.6 A short one and on off, evaded. 76/4
  • 24.5 FOUR! A top shot to get off the mark! This is not a full delivery, it is outside off. Ahmed creams it through covers, on the up and it races away to the fence. This shot should give him good confidence. Not easy playing on the up.
  • 24.4 Three runs! Another good shot on the up! A length delivery angling into the batter, Azam strokes it uppishly but well wide of the bowler. Mid on gives it a chase. The ball slows down as it gets to the ropes and three runs are taken.

  • Iftikhar Ahmed walks out to bat. Pakistan looking in dire straits.
  • 23.3 OUT! TAKEN! This time the edge finds the gloves of the keeper! Starc gets his second and the partnership which did get off to a start has been cut short. The angle does him in here. • 22.1 Azam is a little late there! Slightly shorter and outside off, Azam looks to push at it but the ball skids through and he gets beaten.
  • Drinks Break! Australia continue to put Pakistan under the pump. The visitors continue to have a torrid time and they have lost two wickets in this session. Babar Azam is still out there in the middle and Azhar Ali would hope that him and Asad Shafiq can take them somewhere out of trouble.

  • 21.1 Lands it on a length and around off, it is kept out nicely.
  • Mitchell Starc is back on! He was good in his first spell and if he can bowl another good spell here, Australia might just get another wicket or two.

  • 20.5 BOUNCER! Azam ducks under it with ease.

  • 20.3 FOUR! Now on the other side of the wicket. Hazlewood delivers one on middle and leg, Azam flicks it through mid-wicket for a boundary.

  • 19.6 Just short? Maybe! Shorter and around off, Asad looks to defend but there is extra bounce. It goes off the outside edge towards third slip. Wade dives to his right and stops it nicely. Not sure if it carried or not. Even if it did, it would have been a tough chance. 51/3

  • 17.6 EDGED AND FOUR! Very lucky for Shafiq. Almost the 4th wicket goes down. Cummins bowls one around off and on a length, Shafiq looks to defend but gets it off the outside edge towards second slip. But as Asad plays it with soft hands the ball did not carry to Smith and runs through him for a boundary at third man. Shafiq is off the mark in a nervy fashion. 43/3
  • 17.5 Full and on the pads of Shafiq. He goes for the flick down the leg side but misses it. The ball brushes his pads and goes towards Paine.

  • 15.3 Goes fuller and on middle, Azam strokes it back to the bowler.
  • 15.2 This time he goes back and defends it out solidly.

  • Change in batting order. Babar Azam has been promoted and walks out at number 4.
  • 11.6 OUT! CAUGHT! It is a clean catch from Steven Smith and Azhar Ali has to make the long walk back to the pavilion. This though is brilliant bowling from Pat Cummins. Bowls a full ball on off squaring up Ali, he looks to push at it but it goes off the outside edge to Smith at second slip. He comes forward and takes a good catch. The umpires go upstairs to check whether it is a clean catch. The replays roll in and they show that Smith has taken it cleanly. Pakistan in deep trouble at the Adelaide Oval. 22/2
  • Azhar Ali has been caught at second slip but the umpires have gone up to check whether it is a clean catch or not. The soft signal is OUT! So even if it is 50/50 Azhar will have to walk back. It looks clean and the replay confirms that it is a clean catch.

  • ... Day 2, Session 3 ...
  • What a session for Australia! What a session for David Warner. It looked like the Aussie would try and go past Brian Lara's world record score of 400 but Tim Paine called his side in when Warner went past Sir Don Bradman's score. With 589 runs on the board and the Pakistani players tired for fielding for a day and a half, Tim Paine would have hoped to get a wicket or two before the break. He did not get two but he certainly got one. Starc bowled fire balls and got rid of Imam before the break. Skipper Azhar Ali and Shan Masood will have a task in hand in the final session as the ball is relatively new and the strawberry has a tendency to move a bit under lights. Can Pakistan fight out the final session of the day with little to no damage or will Australia pile on the misery? Join us after the break to find out.
  • 5.6 Huge appeal but the umpire is unmoved. It pitches on middle and leg and goes with the angle. Shan looks to flick but misses. The ball hits him on the pads. The Aussies go up in a huge appeal but the umpire turns it down. Australia have lost a review and they do not take the risk of taking the second review. With that, it is DINNER ON DAY 2. 3/1
  • 5.5 Very full, almost a yorker. Shan digs it out.
  • 5.4 Good length ball outside off, Shan leaves it alone.
  • 5.3 Closer to the off pole, Shan blocks it with a dead bat.
  • 5.2 On the pads, Masood flicks it to mid-wicket.
  • 5.1 Length ball on off, Masood plays it to point.
  • 4.6 Slightly shorter around off, Azhar lets it carry to the keeper. Wicket maiden from Starc. He has bowled some real venoms. 3/1
  • 4.5 149.1 kph ball this. It is outside off, Ali leaves it alone.
  • 4.4 Back of a length ball on off, Azhar keeps it out of his back foot.
  • Azhar Ali, the skipper, is the new batsman in.
  • 4.3 OUT! Caught! You just cannot keep David Warner out of this game, can you? Excellent bowling this from Starc. Bowls a real fajita. Hits the deck really hard with a 150.7 kph ball. It is in the channel of uncertainty around off. Imam looks to defend but the ball takes a thick outside edge straight to the man at gully. David Warner there pouches it in safely. The day he has had, one would feel he would have taken it even if it was 4 feet away.
  • 4.2 Good leave! It starts on off and comes in. Imam leaves it alone. The ball goes over middle and off.
  • 4.1 Oh! Stinger. It is short on the body, Imam looks to defend but it hits him on his glove.
  • 3.6 Outside off, Masood has no business with it. 3/0
  • 3.5 Full around off, Imam pushes it to the right of mid on and gets a single.
  • 3.4 Away from the off pole, Imam leaves it alone.
  • 3.3 Shan is off the mark. Fuller on off, Shan flicks it towards mid on and calls for a quick run. Imam responds and they get it with ease.

  • 2.6 Inswinging length ball around off, Imam shoulders arms and makes away for the ball to go to the keeper. 1/0
  • 2.5 Bouncer! A vicious one as it is sent out at 147.2 kph. Imam sways away from it.
  • 2.4 Good length ball on the pads. This one is bowled at 148 kph. Imam defends it back to the bowler.
  • 2.3 This one is a fiery delivery from Starc. Around late 140s outside off, Imam lets it carry to the keeper.
  • 2.2 Starc hits the deck hard outside off, Imam leaves it alone.
  • 2.1 Shapes in off the surface. It is quick as well.; On a length and coming in, Imam looks to tuck it on the on side but gets a leading edge which falls well short of the man at gully.
  • 1.6 A length ball, around middle and leg, Masood looks to defend but the ball pitches and then seams away, beating the outside edge. 1/0
  • 1.5 Close call. Imam works it through mid-wicket and calls for a quick single. Masood responds but so does Travis Head. He charges onto the ball and has a shy at the bowler's end but misses. Direct hit would have had him!

  • 1.3 Full and around off, pushed towards cover.
  • 1.2 Around off, blocked from the crease.
  • 1.1 NOT OUT! Pitching outside leg. Excellent decision from the umpire. On a good length, around leg (to the naked eye), Imam was on his back foot as he looked to flick. Cummins roared an appeal for LBW as soon as that hit the pads but the umpire was firm. There was a long discussion between Paine and Cummins and with 5 seconds left on the clock, the signal goes up for the review. No inside edge mark on Hot Spot but Ball Tracker shows it to be pitching outside leg. Well, both openers survive but straightaway, Australian new-ball bowlers are showing the length to be bowled on this track.
  • This time it is Australia who have taken the review. 'This looks very close!' says Isa Guha on air. Here comes Ball Tracker - PITCHING OUTSIDE LEG! Two reviews in the span of 2 balls, both favouring Pakistan in the end.
  • Pat Cummins to bowl from the other end.
  • 0.6 SAFE! Masood has survived! Fuller on off and middle, Shan looks to defend but gets hit on the pads. This time all the Aussies are confident and they go up in appeal. The umpire agrees as well. Shan has a word with Imam and then signals the 'T'. Replay rolls in and Hot Spot shows a mark as it goes past the bat. There is a feather of an inside edge and Masood survives. End of a dangerous first over from Starc. Almost had an early breakthrough. 0/0
  • Gone! Boy, Illingworth has taken just 5 seconds to raise his finger! Masood has been adjudged LBW but he takes the review after having a long chat with Imam. Looks to be out plumb. Hold on a second, there is a bit of an inside edge which is seen on the Hot Spot. Shan survives!
  • 0.5 On the stumps, Masood defends it off the front foot.
  • 0.4 Another half appeal turned down. It is on the pads, Masood looks to flick but misses. The ball hits him on the pads. Starc this time is asking the question but he does not have a lot of support.
  • 0.3 Ohh! Close call. Good length ball on off, Masood looks to defend but misses. The ball hits him high on the back pad. The fielders standing behind the stumps go up in a huge appeal but Starc does not. The umpire too is not interested. Looked too high.
  • 0.2 Right on the money. Starc hits the deck hard and generates some extra bounce, carry and movement. Shan looks to defend but gets squared up.
  • 0.1 Starc starts with a back of a length ball outside off. Shan leaves it alone. The ball swings as it goes past the bat.

Australia Vs Pakistan Live Score (TEST) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • That's all we have from this lopsided Test series. Australia will now get ready to host New Zealand while Pakistan will return home and wait for Sri Lanka. Do join us for all the action in future. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!
  • Australian skipper, Tim Paine says that he is really happy and mentions that they played fantastic cricket in the last two Tests. On contributions from everyone, Paine jokingly says that not all the batsman got a chance to bat but David and Marnus were superb. Tells that Burns at the top was good too. On Warner's triple century, Paine says that it was an unbelievable knock from him. Feels that it is not easy to bat that long. On his declaration before Warner's 400 chances, Paine says that they did think that and spoke to Warner about it but David was okay with the declaration. Talking about Labuschagne, Paine says that he is enjoying his success with the bat. On the bowling, Paine says that the wicket was a difficult one and the bowlers kept coming entire time and it was an awesome performance from them. On the upcoming three-Test match series, Paine jokes that he would want to pouch a few more catches than he did. Tells that if they continue on the path they are right now, the series will be an exciting one.
  • Pakistan skipper, Azhar Ali starts by congratulating the Australian team and David Warner for his incredible triple hundred. Tells that it is always hard to come to Australia and beat them. Adds they have been beaten by the better side. Admits that they were poor in all three departments. Feels they need to improve their bowling and work on controlling the scoring rate. Tells that the batters need to put up big partnerships. Mentions that Yasir's fight along with Azam's knock in the first innings is a positive. Credits Babar Azam for the way he played in the series and feels that he will be a big start for Pakistan in future. Azhar hopes they can improve and learn from this tour. Ends by thanking Cricket Australia for the hospitality and the fans for their support throughout the series.
  • PLAYER OF THE MATCH AND SERIES, DAVID WARNER! Starts by saying that he is really happy that they didn't have to bat again. Tells that he was really tired last night and probably slept on the couch. Says that the triple hundred has not sunk in yet. Remembers his friend, late Phillip Hughes, and shares that he looked up to the skies in his memory. Tells that he is focusing on scoring runs. Adds that he backed himself and enjoyed the innings. Reminds that he was out of the game for a while but he has returned and is enjoying the game more than ever. Further says that their next series is against New Zealand and they are a quality unit. Feels that the conditions in Perth, the venue for the first Test against NZ, will suit the Kiwi attack and they will have to adjust accordingly. Finishes off by saying that he will go back and practice more in the nets and try to do his best.
  • Josh Hazlewood is down for a quick chat. He says that it has been a good couple of weeks for them. Mentions about Cummins' direct hit to finish things off. Reckons that it was a superb performance by the Aussie bowling unit. Praises Starc's effort in the first innings and then Lyon for his fifer. Terms it as a good all-round show. States that he is happy to start the summer in a winning way.
  • More than Pakistan's batting, their bowling should be faulted. Lacking in experience, there wasn't enough control shown by their young bowlers. Although Shaheen Afridi did impress by picking up three wickets. Unlike Pakistan, Australia's bowling was of top notch. Mitchell Starc wreaked havoc first time around with a 6-wicket haul and then Nathan Lyon left his impact in the final innings with a fifer. All in all, it was a completely dominant performance by Australia as they steamrolled Pakistan in the series and win it 2-0. 60 points more to their tally in the ICC World Test Championship and they are second in the list behind India.
  • Yet another thumping victory for Australia! Powered by Warner's magnificent triple century and Marnus Labuschagne's 162, the Kangaroos amassed 589 runs on the board. In reply, apart from Babar Azam's fluent knock and Yasir Shah's surprising century, there wasn't any fight shown by Pakistan. Tim Paine enforced the follow-on with a lead of 287 runs and once again the visiting batsmen failed to turn up with the bat. Shan Masood, Asad Shafiq and Mohammad Rizwan offered little resistance but the task in hand required a monumental effort that never came.
  • Right then, Australia took just under 15 minutes to pick the remaining two wickets and register yet another massive win. They are all smiles. David Warner takes a stump as a souvenir and leads his team off the park. Handshakes going on at the moment.
  • 81.6 OUT! Wow, a direct hit by Pat Cummins to end proceedings. Very rare that you keep this guy out of action. No wickets? No problem. I shall get one through my fielding. Patto takes aim, holds his poise, stands still and fires. Bowled. Okay, run out!!! Australia's golden boy of 2019 has ended this Test match and series with a bull's eye. Fuller ball on off, Musa manages to hit it to the right of mid on. Abbas was going for a non-existent single and Musa sends him back. But Abbas is halfway down and the brilliance of Cummins finds him short. He is so short of his crease that the umpire does not even go upstairs. The Australian players are up in joy. AUSTRALIA WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 48 RUNS and they win their first series in the ICC World Test Championship.
  • 81.5 Yes, surely, he is not going to hang around. Another length ball outside off, Musa once again looks to hammer it out of the park but this time makes no connection.
  • 81.4 EDGY FOUR! A boundary over the slip cordon. Musa is not going to hang around. A fullish ball just outside off, Musa looks to heave but gets an outside edge which flies over the slip cordon and into the third man fence.
  • 81.3 Targets the stumps this time and bowls it full. Musa looks to flick but makes no connection and is hit on the pads.
  • 81.2 Beaten! Almost kisses the outside edge. Another beauty from Hazlewood. On a length and on off and middle. It once again shapes away as Musa looks to defend.
  • The last man in is Muhammad Musa.
  • 81.1 OUT! Bowled 'em! No. 9 goes and the Aussies are just a wicket away from a series win. A full ball, tailing in. Rizwan looks to drive but misses and the off pole behind gets disturbed. They check for the front foot no ball but Hazlewood is fine. Third wicket for Hazlewood and Pakistan's last hope of avoiding innings defeat takes a massive dive. A fighting innings from Rizwan though.
  • Josh Hazlewood to operate with the second new ball from the other end.
  • 80.6 Beaten by a beauty! It pitches around off and shapes away from the forward prod of Abbas. Lucky not to edge that one. 235/8
  • 80.5 On a length and shaping away. Abbas has no business with it as he shoulders arms.
  • 80.4 Bouncer, way over to trouble the batsman. Abbas ducks under it.
  • 80.3 Outside off, it is left alone.
  • 80.2 Good length ball shaping away and just outside off, Rizwan taps it through point for a single.
  • 80.1 Full and on middle, Abbas pushes it towards mid off and takes a single to get off the mark.
  • Second new ball is available and it has been taken by Australia. Mitchell Starc will operate with it.
  • 79.6 Down the leg side. Way down the leg side. Rizwan lets it be. The umpire lets it be too. 233/8
  • 79.5 FOUR! Flighted ball on middle, turning back in upon landing. Rizwan skips down the track and looks to heave it over mid-wicket. At the point of contact, the ball turns in to take the inside half of his bat and Rizwan drags it over square leg for a boundary. He doesn't get the proper connection but the result is what he was looking for!
  • 79.4 Quicker one on the pads, Rizwan stays on the back foot and taps it wide of the short leg fielder.
  • We are back for the final session. The Australian players walk out to the middle. Two scalps and the series will be done and dusted. Can Rizwan present some fight and force Australia to bat again? He walks out with Mohammad Abbas to resume his innings. Lyon to continue with the ball.
  • ... Day 4, Session 3 ...
  • Excellent session for Australia that has fetched them three wickets and put them on the cusp of a 2-0 series win! Nathan Lyon has bounced back from the disappointment of the first innings and was once again instrumental in cutting short Pakistan's stubborn fight by claiming a fifer. 2 wickets left to pick and the only question remains is whether Rizwan rallies around with the remaining batsmen and force Australia to bat again! We will find that out soon. Do join us in a short while for what could be the final session of this Test series.
  • We thought that the session will be extended but Tim Paine has declined the extra 30 minutes and the Aussies are walking back for Dinner. Star of the session and this innings so far, Nathan Lyon is down for a quick chat before he heads for his break. Lyon says that it was a very good session and hopes they are clinical enough to wrap it up. On being unlucky not to get any wickets on Day 3 inspite of bowling so well, Lyon admits that is how it is. Further adds there are days you bowl badly and yet end up getting wickets.
  • 79.3 OUT! Caught! Fifer for Lyon! What kind of shot is this, Shaheen? A tossed up ball around off, Afridi looks to launch it out of the stadium but he manages to slice it high towards mid off. The fielder, Hazlewood, settles himself and pouches the ball comfortably. 16th fifer for Lyon in Tests, 1st against Pakistan, 50th at Adelaide Oval. Two wickets remaining, will this session be extended?
  • 79.2 Around off and turning away a hint. Afridi waits on the back foot and blocks.

  • 75.5 Flighted outside off, Shaheen swings his bat at it. It goes off the outside edge towards short third man and they take a single.
  • 75.4 Shorter on off, Afridi defends it off his back foot.
  • Shaheen Afridi is the new batsman. The tall man joins Rizwan and is having a word with him.
  • 75.3 OUT! LBW! Pakistan lose one of their reviews. The centurion from the first innings cannot hang around for long this time around. Shorter and slightly quicker on off. It pitches and straightens. Yasir looks to play from the back foot but is late on it and the ball hits him flush on the pads. The Aussies appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Yasir makes eye-contact with Rizwan and then signals the 'T'. Replays roll in. First Hot Spot shows that there is no involvement of the bat. Snicko confirms it later on. Ball Tracker then comes in and it reflects all reds. Yasir has to walk back. No heroics from him in the second innings. Pakistan still trail by 66 runs.
  • Big shout for an lbw! FINGER GOES UP! Yasir Shah has a clueless look on his face and then decides to take the DRS. Is it too high? There is no bat on the Hot Spot and Snicko. Here comes the Ball Tracker...and it's hitting the top of off stump. No heroics in this innings from Yasir Shah.

  • 72.6 Oohhh... That's struck Labuschagne on the helmet and the short leg fielder nearly assisted a catch. Back of a length ball on off, Rizwan gets back and pulls it firmly across the line. Labuschagne at short leg is quick to duck. The ball hits him on his helmet and lobs wide of mid on. The fielder there cannot get around quickly and they take a single. • 72.5 This time flicks it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 72.4 FOUR! Yasir continues from where he left of in the first innings. Fuller on middle and leg, Yasir flicks it away over backward square leg for a boundary. It looked similar to Kevin Pietersen's flamingo flick. This is what form does to a batsman (errr bowler).
  • 72.3 Bouncer! Just around off. Yasir initially looks to play but then sways away from it. Nicely done as he never took his eyes off the ball.
  • 72.2 Slower length ball outside off, Rizwan cuts it to deep point for one.

  • 70.2 Around the body, Rizwan plays it to the leg side.
  • 70.1 Ouch! Rizwan has definitely misread that. Back of a length ball on the body. Rizwan shoulders arms to it and the ball hits him flush under his armpits. He straightaway throws his bat as he feels the pain but then later on signals a thumbs up and picks up his bat. That would have hurt. Labuschagne at short leg was in a good position there to see the bat flying instead of ball. It falls wide of him though.

  • 69.6 Flighted on off, Yasir blocks it. 205/6

Flighted on middle and leg, Iftikhar looks to defend but there is some extra bounce and the ball goes off the gloves to the right of short leg. • 63.2 Floated on off, Rizwan defends it off the front foot.
  • 63.1 Off the pad? It looks like that. Slightly shorter around the pads, Rizwan looks to flick but the ball lobs behind off his pad. Paine does not know where the ball is as he is searching. Even Rizwan isn't aware. The naughty nut is flying right over the Aussie skipper and falls on his back. Smith steams in from first slip but fails to get there in time. He also attempted to lift the ball with his left leg as it's going down but all his trickery didn't work. Wouldn't have mattered as replay confirms that there was no bat involved.

  • Welcome back, folks! After a quick break we are ready for the second segment of the fourth day. Pakistan have fought well so far but are still 120 runs away from making Australia bat again. The conditions have been beautiful for batting and the hosts should be commended for picking two wickets in the first session. 5 more left to pick, can they take them all in the next two hours? Let's find out. It's going to be Pat Cummins (8-4-19-0) to start off proceedings post Tea.
  • ... DAY 4, SECOND SESSION ...
  • A very good session for the hosts. Much better than the previous day. It did not start well for Australia as Asad Shafiq and Shan Masood fought it out in the first hour. The latter got to his fifty and it looked like it would be a wicketless session but Lyon got rid of Shan. Asad too departed after getting to his fifty and once again it was the local boy who did the damage. Lyon must feel he should have had 3 as Labuschagne dropped his third catch of the game. This time it was of Rizwan. The visitors would hope that Rizwan and Iftikhar can put up a fight and show some grit. Can they do it? Join us after the break to find out.

  • 47.6 OUT! Caught at leg slip! Lyon has two now and both the overnight batsmen are dismissed. Extra turn and bounce for the offie. He dishes it around middle and leg, Shafiq moves back to work it across the line but it catches the higher half of his bat and settles into the safe hands of Warner.
